Security Officer (General)

About the role

Whether you are looking to pick up additional shifts to supplement your income or take the next step in your Security career, we have a range of shifts available across multiple venues. Upcoming opportunities include shifts at major sporting events and venues, concerts, festivals, iconic landmarks and much more.

You will be part of large and small professional event teams with years of experience who love working events. Additionally, you will enjoy being part of making exciting events happen and being part of the entertainment on event days.Your duties may include welcoming people to the event, provide ticketing or credential access control at entry, check for restricted and prohibited items, roaming through the crowd monitoring people, managing crowds and providing event and venue information, securing event perimeters, managing restricted areas including back of house, field of play, and performance areas or protect event assets or people.

  • Provide general customer service including event information
  • Control access at entry and exit
  • Maintain conditions of entry
  • Provide crowd direction and management
  • Monitor crowd behaviour and RSA
  • Monitor, respond and report relevant incidents
  • Secure restricted areas
  • Protect event assets
  • Prepare general security records and reports

Skills and experience

  • Security License (NSW 1A)
  • First Aid Certificate (current)
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Competency Card (current)
  • Flexibility (events are dynamic) and availability (events are frequently evenings and weekends)
  • Enjoy working with people (customer centric approach)
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Appreciate events, sport, and entertainment!
