Security Control Room Operator

About the role

We are seeking full time and casual Control Room Operators for high profile facilities and places across metropolitan Sydney.

Please note: this role requires Security Guards who have a valid NSW 1A Security Licence.

The role is dynamic, with high volume and interesting activities and occurrences, including continuous surveillance of CCTV, response to alarms and monitoring communications systems. You will be able to manage multiple actions and security scenarios in real time, requiring continuous multi-tasking and procedural decision making.

  • Supporting, directing, and co-ordinating small to medium sized teams, including response to incidents and emergencies
  • Preparing shift operational briefs and briefing staff
  • Manage and use control room technical systems and equipment including complex data entry
  • Responding to communication systems including radio, telephone, and email (client and public)
  • Maintaining observation and monitoring using surveillance systems including CCTV
  • Responding to alarm activations
  • Managing access control systems
  • Maintaining data and security records including communication logs and comprehensive reports
  • Maintain and distribute security operational equipment

 

Skills and experience

  • Security License (NSW 1A), minimum 12 months* (*or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated control room operational experience including using a range of technical systems
  • Minimum 3 to 6 months Control Room Experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Exceptional personal presentation
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to work 24/7 rotating roster
  • First Aid Certificate (current)
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol - RSA (current)
  • White Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Traffic Control and Implement Traffic Management Plan certificates (or willing to obtain)
  • Fire Warden (or willing to obtain).
  • Full NSW Drivers Licence
